SRM university Admission From Bangladesh

SRM University's main campus is one of the few premium universities in India. It was founded in 1985 as SRM Engineering College in Kattankulathur, under the University of Madras. It is now known as SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) — a private deemed-to-be university. 

The campus is situated about 40 km away from Chennai, and it received deemed university status in 2002. It is accredited by NAAC with the highest A++ grade and has five campuses across Tamil Nadu, with Kattankulathur being the flagship main campus. 

SRMIST is recognised by UGC, AICTE, and ICAR, and holds accreditations from the NBA, the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET (USA), and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (UK).

For the last six years, SRMIST has consistently ranked within the top 50 universities out of around 1,000 in India by NIRF. It has been rated QS 4-Stars and holds the QS-IGUAGE Diamond rating. It is also ranked No. 2 among privately funded institutes in India under the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) by the Ministry of Education.

Tuition Fees 2026

B.Tech (Engineering) — 4 Years

  • Tuition fees at SRM Kattankulathur are categorised into tiers, starting from ₹2,75,000/year for core branches up to ₹4,75,000/year for premium Computer Science programs. 
     
  • The total course tuition fees for B.Tech at SRM Kattankulathur range from INR 11 Lakh to INR 23.8 Lakh for the full 4-year program. Hostel facilities cost between INR 1 Lakh To INR 2.5 Lakh per year. 

Other Programs

  • For B.Sc. programs, tuition fees range between INR 75,000 to INR 8,00,000, and for M.Sc. programs, fees range between INR 1,20,000 to INR 7,50,000. 
     
  • Note for Bangladeshi students: Fees for international/NRI students may differ slightly. It is advisable to contact the university directly or through GEE Bangladesh for the latest international fee structure.

 

Scholarships 2026

  • As a SAARC member country, Bangladeshi students enjoy dedicated international scholarship categories at SRMIST — separate from general Indian student scholarships and far more generous.
     
  • SAARC countries eligible for these special scholarships include: Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and the Maldives.


Scholarship 1: SAARC Economic Scholarship (Engineering)

This is the most beneficial scholarship for Bangladeshi students pursuing B.Tech or M.Tech. SRMIST offers a 65% tuition fee waiver for students from Africa, Asia, and SAARC countries for the Engineering stream.

  • Applicable for B.Tech and M.Tech programs

  • One of the highest waivers available for international students

 


Scholarship 2: SAARC Economic Scholarship (Other Programs)

  • For programs outside Engineering, SRMIST offers a 50% tuition fee waiver for students from Africa, Asia, and SAARC countries. 
  • This 50% Economic Scholarship applies to both UG and PG programs for SAARC students. 
  • This covers programs such as Management (BBA/MBA), Science & Humanities, Law, Agriculture, and Health Sciences.

 

Scholarship 3: NRI/Foreign Category Scholarship (SAT-Based)

For Bangladeshi students applying under the foreign/NRI category with a SAT score, SRMIST offers:

  • 40% tuition fee waiver for the entire duration of the Engineering programs

  • 50% tuition fee waiver for the entire duration of other programs 

 

Scholarship 4: Founder's Scholarship for International Students

The Founder's Scholarship for NRI/Foreign students provides:

  • 40% tuition fee waiver on annual tuition fees for candidates scoring 70% and above in relevant subjects for Engineering

  • 50% tuition fee waiver for the entire duration of other programs 

This is applicable for both UG and PG programs (except MBBS, BDS, BASLP, B.Pharm, and Pharm D).

 

Scholarship 5: HSC High-Scorer Scholarship

For Undergraduate programs, students can avail a 50% fee waiver on annual tuition fees by scoring 70% and above in HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) grades — directly applicable for Bangladeshi HSC results.
