Chennai Institute of Technology (CIT) was established in 2010 following the concept of the Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) to provide the best engineering education in India. Over the years, CIT has become one of the best engineering colleges in India. CIT ranks 2nd among the 571 colleges affiliated to Anna University. CIT can be the alternate choice for those who dream of pursuing undergraduate engineering at NITs and IITs in India. The CIT admission process is as competitive as NIT and IIT. 

The Chennai Institute of Technology awards scholarships to extraordinarily talented international students. International students with 80% and above marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology may qualify for maximum scholarships. It is important to note that international seats are limited at CIT. For example, only five international students are admitted to each course at CIT each year.
